 After a good while of burying my head in the sand, I've decided that its best for the both of us if Benji went home and I concentrate on Lily over the winter. I love him to bits and he's such a cracking pony but is just a bit more tougher to play with than I had really wanted in a levels partner. Because he has been a companion pony for so many years with very little ridden hours on him, I essentially got a youngster as a levels partner without realising, which was exactly what I was told to avoid. He's such a fun, cool character that I thought we'd get by but as time goes on, the foundations that I'd laid as best as possible are crumbling in places because of my lack of Savvy, especially in our Freestyle. I'm rather upset about this decision so if I'm not very talkative at the moment, I apologise.
To be honest, I'm rather torn as to whether I should keep updating this blog over winter because progress with Lily will be slow, steady but slow. Also, Lily is complex so we're not taking the orthodox route through the levels programme and instead will pick out and play with what she needs at the time. For now, we're working on getting to at least level 3 Friendly Game because it is the thing she is least tolerant of and the most important game that needs to be good with her before we can progress. Most of my entries would be waffling, as its hard to describe Lily, her ways and what I'll be upto with her and I wouldn't want my blog to influence people to deviate from the programme because it is the best route for most people and their equine partners. Also, I have a feeling I will get criticism from students who feel that the route I'm taking isn't such a great one. Not that I should care but it would get frustrating.

I haven't been updating because unfortunately I'm not feeling very well at the moment. Both Benji and Lily are fine and we have nice play sessions when I can manage to. I would update but there's a lot to say and not enough energy or inclination to type it. I hope things pick up soon to say the least.
