Wahoo!
So today I set up my round pen, it isn't exactly round but it's a good size and it's connected to the gate for ease of access!
Diane offered me Molly to really try out my new bareback pad on so I scrambled on with very little grace! I'm really pleased with it and felt quite secure. I haven't ridden bareback in more than a walk since I was traditional so I was a bit apprehensive as to if I'd do alright. I beared the Parelli's advice in mind to only go up a gait once I was comfortable in the current one and within 10 minutes I was cantering around the place on it; what a blast! It gave me a chance to assess how my new balance-point-not-groin seat really was with 'the truth' i.e. the saddle taken away and I was quite pleased with how it's coming along. I felt much more comfortable and didn't feel tense in my legs once because I pedalled quite a bit. It was really awesome. I can't wait 'til I'm careering bareback around the yard on Benji or Lily! :)
Once I'd done the round pen and ridden Molly I'd been up the yard for four hours so I didn't get to spend much time with Lily or Benji. Tomorrow I'll make an effort to get up and play with them early morning before it gets too hot.

Lily

I am owned by this gorgeous piebald cob mare, Lily. She's an interesting character, fun to play with and is a great teacher.

There's more about her on her own page.
The Philosophy
It's not about disposable horses; it's about relationships for life.
It's not about quick fixes and artificial aids, it's about savvy; true understanding and expertise.
It's not about winning and others losing; It's about win-win: you and the horse need to feel good.
It's not about me me me; It's about changing the world for horses, becoming a person of knowledge and influence, and sharing what you know.
It's not about fear and doubt; It's about unconditional love and trust.
Love for the empowerment of others and trust that you'll never ask the horse to do something that would hurt or diminish his dignity.

Reveal your horse. Discover your potential. Live your dream.
