Quick update: Lily's settled in much better and I am now picking up some dominance vibes from her like I did before she went to Arran's. Being a LBi sometimes I know that will be present when her safety need is fulfilled and if I try to correct her when she is looking like a bulldog chewing a wasp or trying to porcupine my hand, she'll revert to RB within a blink of the eye. I'm going to have to think how I can try and balance our rapport so she sees me as a confidence-bringing leader yet not one she can challenge. Hmm, how interesting!
For the most part, Lily will still stick with me when I take her ropehalter off. When she was feeling more confident online today I just played a bit of driving from zone 3 and she was very good. I was going to take her out of her field about 10 metres to graze online as a bit of a change but she just couldn't deal with that at all. I hadn't realised that the little patch she's on has become such a comfort zone for her, we A&R the gateway a little and then left it on that note because I didn't want to push her.
It's so hard not to get all emotional and want to cuddle Lily; I missed her so much whilst she was gone. But I resist because her most favourite friendly game is me being there but not asking anything of her or putting any pressure on and I think if I were to try and hug her she would freak out. So after my session today with Lily I went into the chestnuts' field and made a huge fuss of Benji because I knew he wouldn't mind... I'm such a softie at times. Although I've seen and fussed Benji everyday I miss playing with him so I'm hoping to have a short play session with him tomorrow just to keep things going as well as they have been. :)

Lily

I am owned by this gorgeous piebald cob mare, Lily. She's an interesting character, fun to play with and is a great teacher.

There's more about her on her own page.
The Philosophy
It's not about disposable horses; it's about relationships for life.
It's not about quick fixes and artificial aids, it's about savvy; true understanding and expertise.
It's not about winning and others losing; It's about win-win: you and the horse need to feel good.
It's not about me me me; It's about changing the world for horses, becoming a person of knowledge and influence, and sharing what you know.
It's not about fear and doubt; It's about unconditional love and trust.
Love for the empowerment of others and trust that you'll never ask the horse to do something that would hurt or diminish his dignity.

Reveal your horse. Discover your potential. Live your dream.
